| Abstract: | [cat] A Inca la tradició sabatera es remunta almenys al segle XIII, i assolí, al llarg del temps, una gran importància, de tal manera que l’any 1458 el Gremi de Sabaters de la vila d’Inca se separà del de la Ciutat de Mallorca. A finals del segle XIX i principis del XX, amb la industrialització, foren temps molt propicis per als nostres sabaters, fou molt la gent d’Inca i de la contrada que es dedicà a aquest ofici, la qual cosa propicià que es creassin tallers, grans fàbriques i petits tallers, sense oblidar-nos de la gran quantitat de dones que feien feina des de casa. Un d’aquests tallers petits, però no per això menys important, fou l’“Andreu Arrom”, un taller com n’hi havia molts d’altres a Inca i a pobles del voltant, però la qualitat del qual ens la demostra el fet que, en dos anys consecutius, obtingués un Oscar a la millor sabata de nin i dues mencions honorífiques a la sabata d’home i a la sabata infantil. ; [eng] In Inca, the shoemaking tradition dates back to the 13th century, reaching, over time, great importance so much so that in 1458 the Cobbler's Guild of Villa d'Inca separated from that of the City of Mallorca. At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, and thanks to the industrialisation it was a very austpicious time for our shoemakers, many people from Inca and the region dedicated themselves to this trade, enabling the creation of workshops, large factories and small workshops, without forgetting the large number of women who worked from home. One of these small workshops, but no less important for that, was the "Andreu Arrom", a workshop like many others in Inca and surrounding towns, but whose quality is demonstrated by the fact that, in two consecutive years, it won an Oscar for the best boy's shoe and two Honorable Mentions for the men's shoe and the children's shoe. |
