| Resum-Abstract: | [spa] Se exponen algunos datos históricos sobre las incursiones y visitas realizadas durante el siglo XIX y comienzos del XX en la Cova Nova de Son Lluís, cavidad importante y relativamente famosa del municipio de Porreres. Esta localidad destaca por el hecho de haber sido objeto de la primera publicación monográfica sobre una cueva de Mallorca, escrita por el erudito y polígrafo mallorquín Joaquim Mª Bover el año 1839; el presente trabajo incluye una reproducción facsímil de este curioso opúsculo. Como complemento de los apuntes históricos, se aportan la descripción de la cueva así como diversas observaciones de índole geoespeleológica. Aparte de hacer referencia a su exuberante ornamentación natural, se dedica también especial atención tanto a la presencia de CO2 en la atmósfera de la cavidad como a la espeleogénesis de este interesante fenómeno endokárstico, para el cual se sugiere un posible origen hidrotermal. [eng] Some historical data on the explorations and visits to Cova Nova de Son Lluís (Porreres) from XIXth century to the start of XXth are documented in the present paper. This relatively renowned site outstands among Majorcan caves because it was the subject of the first known monographic publication about caverns of the island, written in 1839 by the local erudite and polygraph Joaquim Mª Bover. A facsimile reproduction of this curious booklet is included in these pages. The detailed description of the cave and several geospeleological observations are also supplied as complementary information. Besides the exuberant natural ornamentation of the cavern, attention is furthermore focused on the presence of CO2 in the cave-atmosphere as well as on the speleogenesis of this very interesting endokarstic phenomenon. A possible hydrothermal origin is suggested in order to explain the genesis of the cave. |
