| Abstract: | [cat] La fabricació de calç fou inicialment una indústria marginal, reclosa principalment als racons de muntanya no aptes per al conreu. Cent anys enrere els pactes es feien a ús i costum de bon conrador que, entre altres coses volia dir ‘sense papers’. Així que dels forns in situ no en tenim documentació, però sí que ens queden els testimonis primigenis, que són els forns mateixos, tot i que la majoria en mal estat. El present treball de camp és l’inventari dels forns de calç trobats a la zona muntanyosa de Palma, que s’acosten al centenar, molts més dels que suposàvem, ja que les notícies anteriors sobre aquest tema eren molt poques i tangencials. ; [eng] Producing lime was a marginal industry in the beginning. It was mainly located at the mountain skirts which could not be used to cultivate. One hundred years ago business were agreed without any documents, just the word of the men was enough. So, about the kilns in situ there is not any documentation, but we have the testimony of the kilns themselves, although most of them are not in good conditions. The present fieldwork is a list of the kilns in the mountains of Palma, a lot more than we were supposed to find, because the previous information we had about this subject were little and tangential. |
