[eng] The paleontological heritage of Mallorca is very relevant, and in a way unknown, and is exposed to constant aggressions that can lead to its disappearance. This work presents a methodological proposal to facilitate its conservation and management. This consists of defining, cataloging, characterizing and valuing the paleontological heritage studied in the most objective and justified way possible, based on a clear definition of what is paleontological heritage for subsequent exhaustive and systematic cataloging. A selection of the most significant, useful or vulnerable Paleontological Places of Interest (LIPs) and individualized management and conservation strategies are proposed for each LIP. The cataloging and valuation of the paleontological heritage carried out proves to be an important instrument of heritage management and also proves to be an important instrument for researching, understanding and disseminating the natural and cultural history of the island. Regarding the paleontological material, they have been referenced in the order of 2000 taxa and cataloged and about 1100 paleontological sites (about 30% unpublished).
