[spa] La sociedad rosellonesa ha construido una imagen de sí misma vinculada a valores, tradicionales y vernáculos, y condicionada por el peso de determinados períodos de su historia, en particular la Edad Media y la Época Moderna. El desarrollo del turismo ha engendrado una percepción agresiva de la modernidad y ha condicionado el olvido de determinados capítulos de la historia reciente de la región. En este sistema de representación social, el patrimonio industrial y el patrimonio arquitectónico contemporáneo no tienen cabida y por ello no han sido identificados, al menos hasta fecha muy reciente, como posibles ofertas de turismo cultural. ; [eng] The Roussillon society has built an image of itself linked to traditional and vernacular valúes and conditioned by the weight of certain periods of its history, especially the Middle Ages and the Modern Era. The tourist development has generated an aggressive perception of modernity and has conditioned the neglect of certain chapters in the recent history of the región. In this system of social representation, industrial heritage and contemporary architectural heritage seemed to have no place and, therefore, haven’t been identified, at least until very recently, as possible offers of cultural tourism. |
