[cat] La restauració del Santuari de Lluc, promoguda pel bisbe Pere Joan Campins, es convertí al començament del segle XX, en el referent més rellevant de les peregrinacions religioses mo¬ dernes. El Santuari havia estat, històricament, des del segle XIII, el centre marià de Mallorca i s’havia sostingut gràcies a les rendes del patrimoni, els donatius i la producció agraria de les seves propietats. Després de la desamortització dels béns del Santuari, el 1897, la diòcesi de Mallorca repensà un nou model de centre devocional i incorporà el turisme com a eix vertebrador de l’economia espiritual. Des de llavors, Lluc es consolidà com a santuari marià regional, complementat amb un teixit de santuaris locals i parroquials que ocupen tot l’espai illenc. Cent anys després d’aquella iniciativa impulsada per Campins el Santuari resta avui com una icona cultural i religiosa. ; [eng] The Lluc Sanctuary restoration, which was promoted by bishop Pere Joan Campins, became the most significant referent regarding religious pilgrimages in the 20th century. Historically, the Sanctuary had been the Mallorca’s Marian (devoted to Virgin Mary) center since the 13th century. Furthermore, it sustained thanks to heritage’s incomes, donations, and the agricultural production and its properties. After the disentailment of the Sanctuary’s properties in 1897, Mallorca’s diocese redesigned a new model of devotional center and added tourism as the main axis of the spiritual economy. Since then, Lluc consolídate itself as the regional Marian Sanctuary, which is complemented with a web of local and parochial sanctuaries that can be found all along the island. A hundred years after the initiative driven by Campins, the Sanctuary remains today as a cultural and religious icon. |
