[ENG] This paper sets out Sellars’ alternative, known as Verbal Behaviourism, to the traditional (or Cartesian), instrumental concepts of the relationships between thought and language. To do so, first of all the concept of thinking-out-loud and the claim that thinking-out-loud is the primary way of thinking are analysed. The second part of the paper suggests replacing the concept of thinking-out-loud with the concept of puttingthings- into-words. Apart from including the primary forms of thought and being compatible with Sellars' theory of intentions, the concept of putting-things-into-words helps to frame a better understanding of what is it to come into the space of reasons, without the bias of Verbal Behaviourism. Finally, it is argued that the concept of putting-things-into-words fits easily into the view of cognitive development as being representational re-description with an extended vision of mind. ; [SPA] Este artículo expone la alternativa de Sellars, el llamado el Conductismo Verbal, a las concepciones tradicional (o cartesiana) e instrumental de las relaciones entre pensamiento y lenguaje. Para ello, en un primer momento analiza el concepto de pensamiento-en-voz alta y la afirmación de que los pensamientos-en-voz-alta son la forma básica del pensar. En un segundo momento, se sustituye ese concepto por el de poner-las-cosasen- palabras. Además de incluir las formas primarias del pensamiento y de ser compatible con la teoría de la intencionalidad de Sellars, el concepto de poner-las-cosas-en-palabras permite entender, sin el sesgo del Conductismo Verbal, qué es dar los primeros pasos en el «espacio de los conceptos». Finalmente, se argumenta que esa sustitución cuadra bien con la concepción del desarrollo cognoscitivo como redescripción representacional y con una visión extendida de la mente. |
