Abstract:

[ENG] This article consists of a critical examination of the Wittgenstein's legacy. The author notes that whereas Wittgenstein's textual legacy is widely published and extraordinarily studied there still remains the task of understanding his teaching. This is a difficult task because Wittgenstein's legacy cannot be seen as a collection of doctrines or as the application of a particular method. Moreover, Wittgenstein himself doubted on the possibility of teaching philosophy in the classical way (in the classroom). So it's not the teaching of some philosophical knowledge but the learning of the activity of doing philosophy that matters most. And one learns how to philosophize through the example of someone else's philosophizing. What Wittgenstein's example shows and helps us to learn is that reality, life presents itself under many different aspects. That's why he cannot offer us any method or doctrine. What should remain from the Wittgenstein's legacy is not the philosophy of Wittgenstein but our doing philosophy as an activity which deals with reality in all its complexity. |
