[eng] The present paper describes two unpublished pot-holes recently explored at the ridge known as s’Esquena dets Ases, in the mountains of the public property of Galatzó (Calvià, Mallorca); the topographical surveys of both cavities are published, while some basic data on the geology and geomorphology of the area are also furnished. The dimensions of these shafts are rather modest, with the largest attaining a maximum depth of -46 m, while the smaller one is only -16 m deep. The main interest of these cavities lies in the fact that they can be related to one of the chasms mentioned in the fable entitled “Es pastor de Galatzó”, included in the compilation of Mallorcan folk tales published in 1895 by Archduke Ludwig Salvator Habsburg-Lothringen; the aforementioned fable refers to the misdeeds of Comte Mal, a historical-legendary aristocrat from these territories.
[cat] Al present treball es descriuen dos avencs inèdits localitzats i explorats recentment a l’indret conegut com s’Esquena dets Ases, a les muntanyes de la finca pública de Galatzó (Calvià, Mallorca); es publiquen així mateix les topografies d’ambdues cavitats, al temps que s’inclouen algunes dades bàsiques sobre la geologia i la geomorfologia de la zona. Les dimensions dels avencs són més aviat modestes, assolint el major d’ells una fondària màxima de -46 m, mentre que l’avenc més petit arriba tan sols a una profunditat de -16 m. El principal interès d’aquestes cavitats rau en el fet que es poden relacionar amb un dels avencs esmentats a la contarella titulada “Es pastor de Galatzó”, inclosa a l’aplec de rondalles mallorquines publicades el 1895 per l’Arxiduc Lluís Salvador d’Àustria; l’esmentada rondalla fa referència a les malifetes del Comte Mal, personatge històric-llegendari d’aquestes contrades
