[cat] Des de 2000 s’ha utilitzat a Mallorca el seguiment telemètric, mitjançant diferents tecnologies, per a l’estudi i conservació de la milana, Milvus milvus. La monitorització d’un nombre significatiu d’exemplars ha permès determinar les àrees de campeig i ús més intens, localitzar baixes i identificar les causes de mortalitat. Així, a partir de la zona on va quedar resclosa la població a finals dels anys 90 s’ha observat una progressiva extensió de l’àrea utilitzada a Mallorca, ocupant actualment àrees de major qualitat ambiental. D’altra banda, la localització de baixes facilitada pel seguiment telemètric ha permès identificar l’enverinament com el principal factor de mortalitat de l’espècie i causa fonamental d’haver-la situada al llindar de l’extinció. D’aquesta forma el seguiment d’exemplars a Mallorca ha contribuït a determinar l’ús territorial de l’espècie i les àrees més importants per a la seva supervivència, i ha facilitat l’adopció de les accions necessàries per mitigar la problemàtica i facilitar la recuperació de la població. ; [eng] Telemetry monitoring using different technologies has been used for Red Kite, Milvus milvus, study and conservation since 2000. The monitoring of a significant number of individuals has helped to determine home ranges and areas of high use, casualty localisation and mortality causes. A progressive range expansion in Mallorca has been observed from the area that the population had been confined to at the end of the nineties, presently occupying those areas of greater environmental quality. Conversely, casualty localisation obtained by telemetry monitoring has identified poisoning as the main mortality factor and the fundamental cause of having placed the species on the verge of extinction. Therefore, the monitoring of birds in Mallorca has contributed in asserting the territorial use of this species and determining the most important areas for its survival, as well as facilitating the implementation of necessary mitigation actions and assist in the recovery of the population. |
