Abstract:

Se trata de un varón de 86 años, pluripatológico, que ingresó en nuestro hospital por fiebre de origen desconocido. Durante el ingreso presentó infección urinaria por Enterococcus faecalis que fue tratada correctamente pero persistiendo la fiebre con anemia y trombopenia progresivas, lesiones esplénicas y derrame pleural. Sufrió deterioro rápidamente progresivo, decidiendo tratamiento paliativo y estudio necrópsico. ; This is the case of an 86 years old multipathological male admitted to our hospital because of fever of unknown origin. He was diagnosed of urinary tract infection by Enterococcus faecalis and received right antibiotic, but the fever didn´t disappear and presented anemia and thrombocytopenia with splenic lesions and pleural effusion in the computerized scan. He got worse quickly and his doctors decided palliative care and necropsy. |
