Es descriu i s’analitza l’activitat i la utilització dels serveis del sistema sanitari de les Illes Balears, així com s’examina la seva evolució al llarg del període 1999-2009. S’observa com les Balears és una de les comunitats autònomes amb més baixa freqüentació per habitant a l’atenció primària. En canvi, és una de les regions amb més activitat hospitalària, ja que la població que gaudeix d’assegurament privat a les Balears – proporcionalment una de les majors de l’Estat- usa els diferents professionals especialistes com a porta d’entrada al sistema de salut. L’activitat al servei d’urgències presenta un fort component estacional. Al llarg del període 1999-2009, l’activitat al sector hospitalari ha augmentat més intensament que a l’atenció primària. ; The activity and use of the services of the Health System in the Balearic Islands is described and analysed. Their evolution is also examined through the period of 1999 to 2009. The Balearic Islands is one of the regions to register the lowest percentage of attendance to Primary Care Services per inhabitant. However, it is one of the regions with more hospital activity. This is because people with private insurance, which represents one of the highest percentages of the State, use the specialists as a way to enter the health system. The activity in the emergency services has a high component of seasonality. The activity in the hospital sector has increased more when compared with the Primary Care Services in the period of 1999 to 2009. |
