El avance en el desarrollo de la tecnología farmacéutica ha permitido comprender la necesidad de adecuar los medicamentos a los pacientes pediátricos. El escaso beneficio económico que supone su producción a gran escala hace que la industria no invierta grandes esfuerzos en esta mejora. Por ello en los hospitales se recurre frecuentemente a la formulación magistral y a la reformulación. El Real Decreto 175/2001 ha supuesto un avance en la regulación y optimización de estas prácticas. Desde nuestra experiencia en el Área de Farmacotecnia del Hospital Son Dureta consideramos que quedan, sin embargo, numerosas cuestiones por resolver. Un punto central es hasta que punto la reformulación y la formulación magistral permiten dispensar al paciente pediátrico un medicamento equivalente al comercial. ; The development in the area of Pharmaceutical Technology has highlighted the need to prepare child-friendly formulations. Nevertheless, to develop medicines for children is not cost-effective enough for the pharmaceutical companies. That is why in the hospitals is frequent to resort to the pharmaceutical compounding or to the reformulation. The regulation contained in the RD 175/2001 has meant an improvement in these practices. From our experience, in the Pharmacy Department in the Son Dureta Hospital, we think there are still many issues to be solved. A main point is about the equality of the drug that is finally administered to the patient, in relation to the commercial drug. |
