[cat] Inca compta amb dues parelles de gegants: uns pagesos de 1928 i uns sabaters de 1995. Aquests quatre gegants han suposat per a la història d’Inca un rellevant component del seu patrimoni històric i cultural. Representen l’evolució de la societat inquera. Cada parella sorgeix en un moment determinat per una qüestió concreta, i marquen, en certa manera, un canvi en el pensament popular. A partir de la informació d’arxius, programes de festes, diferents llibres i algunes entrevistes, podem explicar l’origen dels gegants i el seu significat per a la comunitat. Les quatre figures són el llegat del poble, mantenen vives les tradicions i sempre han format part de l’esperit de la festa. ; [eng] Inca has two pairs of giants: two peasants from 1928 and two shoemakers from 1995. These four giants have been a relevant component in Inca’s historical and cultural heritage. They represent the evolution of society in Inca. Each pair appears in a specific moment determined by a certain aspect and they mark a change in the popular thoughts. Using data from archives, festivity programs, books, and interviews, we can explain the origin of these giants as well as their meaning for the city. All four figures are part of the town legacy, preserving traditions and ensuring that festivities endure. |
Els orígens i l'impacte dels gegants d'Inca
