Abstract:

[cat] El cabot (Delichon urbica), juntament amb la falcia (Apus apus), són actualment les aus més nombroses de la ciutat d’Inca. La manca de dades sobre el cens d’aus i la facilitat de localització dels nius han decidit una activitat censal sobre el cabot. S’han localitzat i quantificat els nius, i se n’ha classificat el seu estat, exposant els resultats estadísticament i gràficament. S’explica l’estatus legal de protecció de l’espècie i els perills de destrucció de nius que suposen algunes activitats humanes, així com l’efecte de bioindicador de la qualitat ambiental que tenen aquestes espècies insectívores. ; [eng] Delichon urbica together with Apus apus are currently the birds with largest population in Inca. The lack of data regarding bird census together with the easiness of nests location were the motivation to create a census activity on the Delichon urbica. The nests have been located and quantified, and their status have been classified. The results have been displayed both statistically and graphically. This work explains the legal protection status of this species and the dangers suffered by the nets related to human activity. The results can be used to analyse the environmental quality, since the presence of these birds represents an indicator of environmental health |
