Abstract:

En aquest article es tracta d’endevinar d’on poden haver sorgit alguns dels pensaments que componen el mosaic de les teories de McLuhan, a més d’altres rellevants influències que l’autor considera essencials per explicar els seus assoliments en els camps de la comunicació i l’educació. Encara que l’article se centra a esbrinar com va arribar a proposar que «el mitjà és el missatge», un dels seus molts aforismes, també s’usa com a nexe de discussió de les seves teories. Igualment es llancen algunes de les seves «sondes» cap a coordenades diferents com el postmodernisme, la pedagogia i la prospectiva educativa per així guanyar una visió més global dels efectes del medi. L’autor ho intenta aplicant als seus plantejaments el mètode gestàltic que ens va proposar, on McLuhan mateix serà la forma i el seu mosaic el fons de treball. ; In this article I will attempt to figure out where some of the thoughts that form the mosaic of McLuhan’s theories could have come from, as well as other relevant influences that I consider essential to explain his achievements in the fields of communication and education. Although I will focus on investigating how he came to propose that ‘the medium is the message’, one of his many aphorisms, I will also use it as a nexus in the discussion of his theories. In addition, I will send out some of his ‘probes’ towards different coordinates such as postmodernism, pedagogy and prospective education so as to gain a more global vision of the effects of the medium. I shall attempt to do this by applying the gestalt method he proposed to his theories, whereby McLuhan himself will be the form and his mosaic the tapestry to be worked on. |
