La visita, l’any 2014, d’una cavitat a Orient (Bunyola), posà de manifest l’existència d’una necròpoli on es conserven restes de taüts de fusta, un tipus de ritual funerari ja documentat a l’illa de Mallorca en el context de l’edat del ferro. Malauradament, el jaciment ha sofert importants espolis, podent-se veure en superfície abundant material arqueològic. Les restes documentades i l’accés a alguns materials recuperats a l’indret els anys 70, han permès donar una primera visió dels ritus que s’hi dugueren a terme i aportar noves dades en quant a la manifestació cultural dels sarcòfags de fusta. Un fet del tot inesperat ha consistit en poder relacionar, de forma directa, aquesta necròpolis amb el jaciment de Son Espases (Palma) i amb la necròpolis de la cova Monja (Sencelles) i de s’Alova (Sóller). ; The visit in 2014 to a cavity in Orient (Bunyola) revealed the existence of a cemetery where there are remains of wooden coffins, a funerary ritual already documented in Mallorca from the Iron Age. Unfortunately, this site has suffered considerable desecration and abundant archaeological remains can be seen above ground. The documented remains and access to other material recovered in the 70s gives us a first impression of the rites practiced back then and brings out new data as to the cultural importance of the wooden coffins. An unexpected outcome has been the establishment of the connection between this necropolis and the archaeological site of Son Espases (Palma) and the cemetery of the burial cave, Cova Monja (Sencelles) and s’Alova (Sóller). |
