Abstract:  [eng] Repercussion of power lines on the birds of Menorca. In the last few years it has become increasingly evident throughout the world that electrocution endangers the survival of many species of birds. In 1996 a group of voluntaries from the Commission of Zoology's of GOB Menorca, worried by the decreasing numbers in the population of the Red kite Milvus milvulS in Menorca, initialised an exhaustive study of the power points across the island. The results are specially disturbing about the Red kite and others species like Raven Corvus corax and the Booted eagle Hieraetus pennatus which have seen there population in the last years reduced. The correct measures to isolate the power points are, in fact, simple and economlcal, the solution to which this problem could be solved in a short term.
