[eng] Study for the preservation of the Shearwater (Calonectris diomedea) colwry on the island of Pantaleu. Presentation of the study carried out on the colony of Cory's shearwater (Calonectris diomedea) from the island of Pantaleu, situated west of Mallorca, about 200 meters from the coast, in order to determine the reproductive success of the species and check on the possible impact of human activity on this colony. The results indicate that success of reproduction, 0.76, is equivalent to that of other Mediterranean colonies. It would seem, however, that in recent years there has been a decrease in the total number of breeding couples, which now, according to the last count, is 63 confirmed couples. On the other hand, the habitual presence of people on the island, both during the day and at night, for the entire summer has been confirmed. |
