| Abstract: | [SPA] En las Islas Baleares, los vuelos de bajo coste constituyen una de las novedades más recientes y destaca - das del binomio transporte aéreo-turismo. Suponen cambios cualitativos y cuantitativos en el conjunto de desplazamientos aéreos y en las compañías operadoras al incrementar la movilidad y la accesibilidad, no sólo de visitantes sino de residentes. Sin embargo, el crecimiento de los movimientos aéreos nos conduce a analizar sus prin - cipales impactos, entre ellos la emisión de gases de efecto invernadero. Se apuntan soluciones técnicas más sostenibles y se vislumbran nuevas estrategias para el sector que intentan contrarrestar los efectos generados por los aumentos constantes de la demanda. ; [ENG] Low-cost flights in the Balearic Islands are one of the most recent and prominent pairing of air transport and tourism. They have led to qualitative and quantitative changes in all air travel and airline companies, due to increased mobility and accessibility of not only visitors but residents as well. However, the growth in aircraft movements has led us to analyze their impacts, including the emission of greenhouse gases. The paper highlights the most sustainable solutions and the new strategies for the industry that are emerging in order to counteract the effects generated by increased demand. |
