| Abstract: | [cat] Els estudis geotècnics realitzats el mes d’agost de 2017 amb motiu de la construcció d’un habitatge unifamiliar van permetre el descobriment d’una cavitat de considerables dimensions. La cavitat, que constava d’una sola sala amb poca ornamentació d’espeleotemes i amb una planta de devers 1.600 m2 de superfície coberta de grans blocs i al voltant de 22.000 m3 de volum, no tenia cap obertura natural a l’exterior. L’interès de la cavitat, formada per col·lapse, radica en el fet de que està enclavada dins dels materials poc consolidats corresponents a la seqüència alternant de paleosòls i eolianites del quaternari; essent aquest, el segon cas que es descriu a l’illa de Mallorca desenvolupat en el mateix tipus de dipòsit (el marès). La destrucció posterior de la cavitat, amb l’obertura i eixamplament de la seva volta i el posterior rebliment per enderrocs ens fa plantejar la necessitat d’una protecció legal, amb la creació de la normativa oportuna per tal de preservar aquest tipus de fenòmens naturals davant les activitats antròpiques. [eng] The geotechnical study carried out in August 2017 related to the construction of a single-family house allowed the discovery of a cave of considerable dimension. The cavity, which showed a single hall with little speleothems ornamentation, has a surface area around 1,600 m2 that was covered with blocks and about 22,000 m3 in volume, with no natural entrance. The interest of the cave, formed by collapse, lies in the fact that it is embedded within the poorly consolidated materials that correspond to the alternating sequence of Quaternary paleosols and eolianites; this being the second case described on the island of Mallorca developed in the same type of deposit (the “marès”). The subsequent destruction of the cave, with the opening and widening of its vault and the subsequent filling by demolition materials makes us consider the need for legal protection, with the establishment of appropriate regulations in order to preserve this type of natural phenomena against anthropic activities. |
