A lo largo de las últimas décadas la ganadería bovina del municipio de Campos ha experimentado importantes transformaciones, pasando de las explotaciones intensivas características de los años ’60 y ’70 del siglo XX, a explotaciones extensivas, desde la década de los ’80, fenómeno que sigue hasta la actualidad. Este hecho supuso una serie de cambios en los usos del suelo y al mismo tiempo, las aguas subterráneas de los acuíferos de la zona sufrieron intrusiones marinas y procesos de salinización experimentando un aumento muy notable de cloruros y otros iones con consecuencias negativas para los cultivos y la ganadería. Este estudio, y la hipótesis consecuente, intentan analizar una relación de estos procesos de salinización con los cambios experimentados en el sistema ganadero bovino en la zona, con el objeto de establecer las posibles implicaciones i relaciones de cada uno de los procesos sobre el otro

Throughout the last decades the cattle of the municipality of Campos has undergone significant changes from the intensive farming characteristic to the 60’s and 70’s of the 20th century, to the extensive farming, which started in the 80’s and is still the current situation. This fact attributed a series of changes, of which we can highlight the use of plots, at the same time, the subterranean waters of the aquifers of the area suffered marine intrusions and salinization processes which affected the water resources of the farms, causing a notable increase in chlorides and other ions with negative consequences for the cattle and crops, when the system changed. This study and the consequent hypothesis tries to analyse and establish a relationship between the salinization processes and the undergone changes to the cattle farming system in the area, with the intention to establish the possible implications of each of the processes against the other.
