[CAT] L’objectiu d'aquest treball és donar una visió general sobre el que era l'abastiment d'aigua a Palma al llarg del segle XIX. Abans de qualsevol de les reformes per dotar la ciutat de la canalització actual, les bases de la qual es posaren als anys trenta del nostre segle, la ciutat disposava d'un sistema d'abastiment d'aigua molt arcaic, pràcticament heretat de l'Edat Mitjana. Amb la intenció de fer un estat de la qüestió bàsicament des d'un punt de vista descriptiu, s'han considerat especialment els testimonis d’autors gairebé coetanis, sobretot de la segona meitat del segle passat. A més de donar el que era històricament un dels elements de la infraestructura urbana, aquest treball també voldria aportar dades per a una reflexió sobre un recurs natural limitat com l’aigua. ; [ENG] The objective of this article is top give a general view of what was the water supply in Palma along the XIX century.
